PSG Withdraws from Zion Suzuki Transfer Deal

What looked like a done deal for Zion Suzuki has blown up for the second time in a matter of days.

After Juventus walked away from a complex loan arrangement, Paris Saint-Germain have now also pulled the plug on their move for the Parma and Japan goalkeeper, leaving one of the most talked‑about transfer sagas of the summer suddenly wide open again.

The French champions had lined up a €35m package, including add-ons, to sign the 24-year-old from Parma and then immediately loan him to Juventus for the coming season. It was a neat three-club plan on paper: PSG secure a long-term goalkeeper option, Juve get their man without the full financial hit, Parma cash in at a premium.

Then the first fault line appeared.

Juventus, frustrated by delays and the structure of the proposed loan, walked away and switched their focus to alternative targets. The Bianconeri had grown tired of waiting, and the carefully constructed triangle started to wobble.

Now it has collapsed entirely.

According to multiple reports, including from Fabrice Hawkins and Fabrizio Romano, PSG were on the brink of completing the transfer, with documents ready and a medical scheduled for today. At that point, Suzuki’s representatives are said to have made an additional last-minute request.

That late change infuriated the Ligue 1 club. The reaction in Paris was swift and decisive: PSG withdrew from negotiations and, at this stage, have no intention of returning to the table.

For Suzuki, whose stock has risen with Parma in Serie A and with Japan on the international stage, it is a brutal halt to what should have been a career-defining move. For Parma, it is a major sale gone missing at the final turn.

And for Juventus, a door they had just slammed shut might have creaked open again. The Turin club now have a theoretical chance to go directly for Suzuki, without PSG in the middle. The problem is the same as before: the cost of the deal, and whether Juve are willing – or able – to meet it on their own.

Two giants have already walked away. The next move will tell everyone exactly how much Juventus want Zion Suzuki.
