Key Signing Each Premier League Club Needs Before Transfer Deadline

The Premier League transfer window is winding down with less than a month to go. Even after the World Cup disruption, clubs have been active, but many still need to finalize crucial deals before September 1. Every team has areas that require strengthening, especially with some key departures.

Arsenal: Central Midfielder

Despite interest in Vinícius Júnior for the left wing, Arsenal’s midfield needs more depth. They leaned heavily on Declan Rice last season, which drained him, visible at the World Cup. Martín Zubimendi’s form dipped, and younger players like Myles Lewis-Skelly remain unproven. Offensive midfielders are in place, but another box-to-box midfielder like Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle could be vital.

Aston Villa: Left Back

With Lucas Digne expected to return to Paris Saint-Germain, Villa faces a shortage at left back. Ian Maatsen remains the only natural option, though talented, another reliable fullback is essential as Villa compete in the Champions League again.

Bournemouth: Winger

Rayan is attracting transfer attention, and Bournemouth’s wide attacking options are thin with Ben Gannon-Doak, David Brooks, and Amine Adli providing limited inspiration. Although a right back signing looks imminent, adding fresh wingers is critical given their Europa League commitments and the loss of Antoine Semenyo.

Brentford: Left Back

Injury concerns around Rico Henry and the fact that Keane Lewis-Potter is not a natural left back mean Brentford must strengthen this position. Their current choices lack reliability, so a traditional left back signing is needed.

Brighton & Hove Albion: Striker

Danny Welbeck’s departure to Chelsea leaves Brighton without a proven goal scorer. Their young strikers have yet to prove themselves in the Premier League, and with Conference League matches ahead, acquiring an experienced striker to replace Welbeck’s 13 league goals is crucial.

Chelsea: Goalkeeper
