Çelebi, speaking to local outlet 61saat, outlined how Trabzon’s hotels typically thrive for only three or four months each year before occupancy slumps. Now, with Salah in town and global attention following him, officials see a rare opening.

They want to turn a seasonal destination into a year-round one.

The plan is to use the wave of curiosity and fan travel sparked by Salah as a lever: extend the high season, fill hotels beyond the usual summer rush, and reposition Trabzon as a permanent stop for visitors from Egypt and across North Africa.
