Mohamed Salah Receives Driving Ban and Fine in England

Mohamed Salah has been handed a driving ban and fine in England after failing to reveal who was behind the wheel of his luxury electric Rolls-Royce when it was caught speeding.

Warrington Magistrates' Court in Cheshire convicted the Trabzonspor forward in his absence, suspending his driving licence for six months and imposing a €769 fine. The ruling came in August 2026, months after the incident in March involving a Rolls-Royce "Spectre" valued at more than €466,000.

A mobile speed camera had clocked the car breaking the limit. According to The Sun, the 34-year-old Egyptian never informed police who was driving at the time, leading to a charge of failing to identify the driver.

That silence proved costly.

The court proceeded without Salah after he ignored two summonses sent to his mansion, reported to be worth over €5 million. With no appearance and no explanation, magistrates reached their verdict based solely on the evidence in front of them.

It adds another entry to a growing list of traffic offences linked to the forward.

In 2022, police caught him driving a "Ferrari F8 Tributo" at excessive speed, a case that ended with a fine and three penalty points on his licence. Four years earlier, in 2018, he was recorded using a mobile phone while driving near Anfield.

For one of modern football’s most recognisable names, the problems are no longer just about what happens on the pitch.
