Marc Casadó: Nottingham Forest Leads Premier League Chase

Marc Casadó is turning into one of the more intriguing transfer stories of the summer – and England is circling.

The Barcelona midfielder, on the fringes of Hansi Flick’s plans at the Camp Nou, has drawn concrete interest from a cluster of Premier League clubs as he weighs up his next move ahead of the new season.

According to Mundo Deportivo, citing English outlet TEAMtalk, no fewer than five English sides have asked about the 22-year-old’s situation. One of them has already pushed to the front of the queue.

Forest lead Premier League chase

Nottingham Forest are described as the club most intent on landing Casadó, with the Midlands side exploring a deal as they look to add energy and bite to their midfield.

They are not alone. Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Brighton and Sunderland are also credited with an interest, creating a genuine race for a player Barcelona are ready to cash in on.

Casadó has been linked with a move away from the Spotify Camp Nou throughout the summer, with Barcelona open to a sale and hoping to bring in around €40 million for the academy product.

Europe over Saudi riches

Saudi Arabia has been widely viewed as a likely destination, with clubs there monitoring his situation and able to offer significant financial terms.

Casadó’s stance changes the picture. The midfielder is understood to be keen to remain in one of Europe’s top five leagues, a preference that hands encouragement to his Premier League suitors and keeps the door open for other major European clubs.

Barcelona, for their part, see his departure as a chance to generate a sizeable fee while trimming a player who does not feature in Flick’s immediate plans.

With Forest pushing hardest and a supporting cast of ambitious English clubs lurking, the next step is clear: who is willing to meet Barça’s valuation, and how far will they go for a 22-year-old determined to prove himself at the highest level?
