Manchester United have already raided Chelsea once. They may not be done yet.

After INEOS sanctioned a £50million deal for Brazil midfielder Andrey Santos in the summer, fresh claims suggest two of Chelsea’s biggest names would jump at the chance to follow him to Old Trafford – if United keep moving in the right direction.

The Sun’s piece does not name the two Chelsea players, but few around the league doubt that Cole Palmer is almost certainly one of them.

Palmer, once on the books at Manchester City, is widely understood to have grown up a Manchester United supporter. Now 24 and already one of the Premier League’s standout attacking midfielders, he has become the centrepiece of Chelsea’s project – and a long‑term obsession for United’s recruitment team.

Not everyone with Chelsea ties sees the logic of Palmer in red.
