Liverpool Set to Secure Contract for 'Untouchable' Rio Ngumoha

Liverpool are closing in on a new contract for Rio Ngumoha, with the club now said to “fully expect” an agreement to be wrapped up for one of their brightest young stars.

The winger was one of the few positives in a flat Liverpool season, his fearless bursts from the flank cutting through the gloom at Anfield. While senior forwards laboured, Ngumoha injected pace, directness and a sense that something might actually happen when he picked up the ball. If Liverpool do follow through on their plan to recruit two more wingers, it will be with Ngumoha ring-fenced, not replaced.

According to the report, Gakpo’s representatives have already agreed personal terms in principle with Spurs. They have since moved to the next stage, speaking directly with Liverpool’s hierarchy to spell out the player’s stance: he does not see his long-term future at Anfield and wants the chance to move to north London.
