Liverpool's Chase for Bradley Barcola Intensifies Ahead of Deadline

Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola is turning into one of the sagas of the window – and it looks destined to go right to the deadline.

The Premier League club have made the Paris Saint-Germain forward their priority to strengthen the wide areas, with The Athletic reporting that the 23-year-old France international sits at the top of their attacking shortlist this summer.

The problem is the price.

PSG are holding firm and are said to want around €170m for the former Lyon winger, a figure that leaves a sizeable gap between the French champions and the Merseyside club’s current valuation. Liverpool have already tested the waters with an offer of €115m, but that bid was rejected by the hierarchy at the Parc des Princes.

The stalemate has not shaken the player’s belief. According to L’Équipe, Barcola remains confident he will get his move to Anfield before the window closes and is expecting Liverpool to come back again. The Reds are understood to be preparing a new proposal that would move closer to PSG’s asking price as the clock ticks down.

Liverpool want their wide reinforcement. PSG want their money. Barcola is waiting for the call that decides his next chapter.
