Liverpool Close in on PSG Duo Mbaye and Barcola in Major Transfer Push

Liverpool have reportedly reached personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye, marking a major step in their summer transfer plans. The club is now aiming to complete a double signing that would also bring Bradley Barcola to Anfield, intensifying their bid for the talented PSG duo.

Mbaye Set for Five-Year Deal at Anfield

According to RMC Sport's Fabrice Hawkins, Mbaye, an 18-year-old Senegal international, has agreed financial terms on a five-year contract with Liverpool. Manager Andoni Iraola views him as a key addition to inject pace and youth into the attack, following the recent acquisition of Victor Munoz from Osasuna. Despite interest from German club Bayer Leverkusen, Mbaye seems determined to make the jump to the Premier League. Last season, he featured in 29 matches for PSG under Luis Enrique, scoring three goals, but he struggled for consistent playing time behind stars like Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Barcola Bid Raised to €135 Million

While Mbaye's transfer progresses swiftly, Liverpool are also pushing hard to sign Barcola. Their latest offer stands at €135 million, reflecting their willingness to meet PSG's valuation. The 23-year-old French forward has been a long-term target, and this improved bid signals serious intent.

After splashing a club-record £125 million on Alexander Isak last summer, the Reds had been cautious about overspending. Yet, with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos now part of the club's ownership, they can afford a more ambitious approach. Now, the club awaits a final decision from PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to close what could be one of the biggest transfer stories of the window.

PSG Coach Luis Enrique Remains Reserved

PSG manager Luis Enrique offered little clarity on the futures of Mbaye and Barcola. Both players were omitted from the squad for the Trophees des Champions match against Lens, though they had recently been unused substitutes in the UEFA Super Cup win over Aston Villa. When asked about their status, Enrique declined to comment on transfers until the window closes, leaving questions unanswered.

PSG’s Squad Overhaul Continues

The possible exits of Mbaye and Barcola come amid a broader reshaping at PSG. The French giants have secured promising talents like Ferran Torres from Barcelona and Mika Godts from Ajax, signaling a focus on rebuilding.
