Juventus Firm on Kenan Yildiz Amid Arsenal Interest

As Arsenal weigh up a late-window push for the highly rated winger, the Juventus manager has nailed his colours to the mast, insisting the 21-year-old will not be going anywhere – no matter what lands on the club’s desk.

“I am perfectly relaxed, because dealing with Yildiz is easy for me,” Spalletti told reporters. “They can offer whatever they like, I want Yildiz here and will always put him on the field.

“His future is already important, staying at Juventus, not because there are other clubs who want to spend €100m for him.”

That last line was no accident. The message was aimed squarely at the Premier League money.

Arsenal’s long admiration

The stance comes against the backdrop of growing noise from north London. Sacha Tavolieri reported recently that Yildiz is a dream signing for Mikel Arteta this summer, with Arsenal having already decided to make a move.

Arteta has been pushing the idea for some time. Arsenal, the reports say, are prepared to “pull out all the stops” to bring in the Turkey international, seen as a major attacking weapon for the next phase of the project.

Comolli has not tried to pretend there is no interest. He has openly acknowledged that Arsenal want Yildiz, but drew a hard line in the sand: the club would not sell “even if they offered €100m”.

For a player of his age and profile, those are extraordinary words. They also fit the wider picture in Turin, where Yildiz is viewed as a cornerstone rather than a tradeable asset.
