Juan Bezerra Transfers from Zamalek to Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai

Juan Alvina Bezerra’s stay inside Zamalek’s “White Castle” is over after just one season. The club’s board, led by Hussein Labib, has confirmed a final agreement for the Brazilian’s transfer to Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai in the UAE, drawing a sharp line under a brief but impactful spell in Cairo.

This move has been brewing for weeks. Bezerra skipped Zamalek’s pre-season preparations and stayed away from early matches, making it clear he wanted out during the current summer window. That stance left him on the outside looking in just as the new campaign began, his situation growing more tangled with every game he missed.

He eventually returned to Cairo last Saturday, rejoining the scene but not the project. The message from his side did not change: he wanted a new challenge. Negotiations with Shabab Al-Ahli accelerated, and the deal quickly shifted from possibility to inevitability.

Zamalek granted him permission to travel to the UAE for his medical, a clear sign that the club was ready to move on. Once the tests were completed, the final details fell into place. On Saturday, the White club made it official.

In an official statement, Zamalek said: “The board of Zamalek, chaired by Hussein Labib, announces that an agreement has been reached regarding the transfer of Brazilian Juan Bezerra to Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai of the UAE, after the requirements set by Zamalek at the start of the negotiations in the summer transfer window this year were met.”

The numbers from his solitary season in Egypt tell their own story. Bezerra played 44 matches across all competitions, scored 8 goals and supplied 12 assists. He produced standout performances at key moments, often dragging Zamalek forward in tight contests and helping the team navigate multiple fronts.

His contributions helped power Zamalek to the Egyptian Premier League title last season, his first and only trophy in the famous White shirt. Then, just as his stock rose, his journey with the club ended on his own request.

On the other side of the deal, Shabab Al-Ahli chose a different tone for their unveiling, posting: “They searched for the date of the announcement.. Dubai is the destination”.

For Bezerra, that destination is now clear. Cairo is behind him. Dubai awaits.
