ITV Secures Broadcast Rights for 2027 Rugby World Cup

ITV will air all matches of next year's Rugby World Cup, marking its 10th consecutive time covering the tournament. The event will showcase 24 teams competing, with a last-16 knockout stage, and ITV promises live coverage of all 52 games.

World Rugby chief executive Alan Gilpin said this deal goes beyond a typical partnership; it aims to let everyone in the UK witness the excitement, drama, and personalities of one of the globe's most renowned sporting events.

Longstanding Partnership and Future Coverage

ITV has held broadcast rights for every men's Rugby World Cup since 1991. Alongside this, they secured rights for the 2026 and 2028 editions of the Nations Championship and will share Six Nations coverage with BBC Sport up to 2029.

All scheduled England men's matches through summer 2029 will be shown on ITV, while games featuring Scotland, Wales, and Ireland will also remain free-to-air across the UK during this period.

Tournament Kickoff

The Rugby World Cup will begin on 1 October 2027 with the host nation, Australia, facing Hong Kong in the opening match.
