Ismael Saibari Outlines Bayern Vision: Confidence and Development

At his official unveiling, Ismael Saibari cut the figure of a player who knows exactly why he is at Bayern – and what he wants to become there.

“Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world,” he said, leaning into the club’s status rather than shying away from it. “They've given me the confidence that I can develop as a player and person here.”

That trust clearly matters to him. Saibari spoke with energy about the way the Bundesliga giants play, making it obvious he has done his homework.

“They play with a lot of movement and high intensity. I saw that myself last season,” he explained. “They play very good football, it's always intense, they always look for finishes. I like that a lot.”

For a midfielder who thrives in dynamic systems, Bayern’s attacking style looks a natural fit. The tempo, the constant search for goal-scoring positions, the demand to keep moving – all of it aligns with how Saibari wants to express himself.

Role Under Kompany Still to Be Defined

If there is one piece of the puzzle still missing, it is his exact role under Vincent Kompany. On that, Saibari was honest: the detailed tactical conversations are still to come.

“I haven't discussed it [position] in detail with the coach. I've been focusing on my injury and comeback. We'll definitely talk about it soon,” he admitted.

What he didn’t hide is where he feels most at home on the pitch.

“My favourite position is the number ten, everyone knows that,” he said. That central creative role, operating between the lines, remains his reference point.

But he also made it clear he is not arriving in Munich with a fixed idea and no flexibility.

“I can play in several positions, we always switch around during games anyway. I can also play out wide and a bit deeper.”

That versatility will interest Kompany. A player comfortable as a classic No.10, able to drift to the flanks or drop into a deeper role, offers options in a side built on rotation, movement and intensity.

For now, Saibari’s path is straightforward: get fully fit, earn his place, and grow inside a system he already admires. The tactical fine-tuning with Kompany can wait a little longer; the belief, on both sides, is already in place.
