Inter Milan Closing in on Curtis Jones Transfer

Inter Milan are closing in on Curtis Jones in a deal expected to be worth around 35m euros (£30m), with Liverpool prepared to cash in on the midfielder as he enters the final year of his contract.

The Italian champions saw a verbal offer of 25m euros (£21.7m) knocked back in June, with Liverpool making it clear they valued the 25-year-old closer to £35m. The gap has now narrowed. A package in the region of £30m is understood to be the figure that could finally unlock an agreement.

Sources in Italy believe a verbal understanding is already in place between the clubs. Both Liverpool and Inter, though, insist there are still details to iron out before anything can be signed off.

Liverpool are open to selling Jones and are using Inter’s own recent business as a benchmark, seeking a deal in line with the £30m package the Serie A side paid Tottenham for Djed Spence. For a homegrown player with one year left on his deal, the numbers make sense for the Anfield hierarchy.

Inter’s interest is not new. They pushed in January, proposing an initial loan with an option to buy. Liverpool rejected that approach, unwilling to lose the player without a guaranteed fee attached.

Jones has been part of the first-team picture at Liverpool since his debut under Jurgen Klopp in 2019 and has racked up 228 appearances for the club. Last season under Arne Slot, he featured 49 times in all competitions, but only started 18 Premier League matches and never truly nailed down a permanent role in the midfield.

Now, with Inter circling and Liverpool ready to deal at the right price, his Anfield chapter is edging towards a decisive conclusion.
