Guirassy and Silva: Borussia Dortmund's Explosive Strike Partnership

Serhou Guirassy and Fabio Silva have clicked – and Europe is starting to feel it.

Borussia Dortmund’s new strike partnership is tearing through defenses, from the Bundesliga to the Champions League, with a level of understanding that looks rehearsed yet feels completely instinctive.

It started with the comeback against TSG Hoffenheim last weekend. Chasing the game, BVB leaned on their forwards – and Guirassy and Silva delivered. Between them, they produced two goals and an assist, with Guirassy slipping in his Portuguese partner for the crucial 2-2 equalizer that flipped the momentum.

The connection didn’t cool off in Europe. Against Villarreal in the Champions League, the roles rotated but the pattern stayed the same. Guirassy struck twice, one of those goals laid on by Silva. Same duo, same damage, different stage.

"He and I really enjoy playing together, and we have a lot of fun in training. He's a great player," Guirassy told Amazon Prime afterwards, a simple line that matched what everyone had just watched: two forwards reading each other almost effortlessly.

Now the Bundesliga has been reintroduced to the act in the clash with Paderborn. The nickname “Guirassylva” is already doing the rounds, and the pair lived up to it again. Guirassy threaded the pass, Silva stayed ice-cold in front of goal, and Dortmund led 1-0.

That makes eight goal contributions between them in the space of a single week.

And with minutes still on the clock against Paderborn, the question isn’t whether they’ll add to it – it’s how much longer anyone can stop them.
