Franco Mastantuono's Stunning Hat-Trick on Serie A Debut

Franco Mastantuono needed only one night in Serie A to announce himself.

On matchday four, away to Venezia, the Fiorentina forward on loan from Real Madrid delivered a stunning hat-trick in a 2-4 win, turning a tricky evening in Venice into his own personal showcase.

The game had started badly for the visitors, with Venezia striking first and putting Fiorentina on the back foot. Then Mastantuono exploded into life.

His breakout arrived just before the half-hour mark and felt like it came in a blur. In the 29th and 30th minutes, across a span of just one minute and 36 seconds, the young Argentine collected two balls on the right side of Fiorentina’s attack. Twice he shifted onto his left. Twice he pulled the trigger from outside the box. Twice he beat the Venezia goalkeeper with near-carbon-copy strikes that stunned the stadium and flipped the scoreline.

From 1-0 down to 1-2 up, almost in the blink of an eye. The comeback belonged to him.

Venezia never really recovered from that double punch. Fiorentina grew in confidence, and Mastantuono kept demanding the ball, drifting into pockets of space, always threatening to break the game open again.

The final act of his debut came late. In the 84th minute, with Fiorentina already in control at 1-3, Mastantuono produced one more moment of quality inside the six-yard box. A sharp individual move, a cool touch past the onrushing goalkeeper, and he rolled in his third of the night to make it 1-4.

Three goals. On debut. Away from home. In Serie A.

He left the pitch in the 88th minute to make way for a substitution, his work emphatically done, the scoreboard still reading 1-4 at that point. Venezia would pull one back to make it 2-4, but the story of the night was already written.

Fiorentina found their match-winner in Venice. Real Madrid will have taken note.
