The 135th Durand Cup kicked off on July 25 with the Kolkata derby featuring East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant. This edition is set to be one of the largest in Asia's oldest football tournament history, hosting 24 teams across five cities from July 25 to August 23.

Host Cities and Stadiums

Kolkata remains the central venue with matches at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan and Kishore Bharati Krirangan. The city will see two group stages, opening matches, two quarterfinals, a semifinal, and the final.

Other host cities include:

• Ranchi (Birsa Munda Stadium) – hosting group matches and one quarterfinal, debuting as a host this year.
• Imphal (Khuman Lampak Stadium) – matches and one quarterfinal.
• Shillong (Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium) – fixtures plus one semifinal.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant, a record 17-time champion, and 16-time winners East Bengal FC headline the Kolkata groups. They are joined by teams such as Mohammedan SC, South United FC, CISF Protectors, and newcomers Baghpat FC and Samaleswari Sporting.
