Dario Osorio: Premier League Clubs Pursue Young Chilean Star

Dario Osorio has gone from promising talent to one of the most hunted young attackers in Europe this summer – and the queue for his signature is growing by the day.

The 22-year-old Chilean winger, currently at FC Midtjylland, has drawn serious attention from across the Premier League, with Liverpool, Everton and Leeds United all tracking his situation as the transfer window heads into its final stretch. AC Milan are firmly in the race as well, with interest from both England and Italy confirmed by sources in Denmark and Italy.

Arsenal’s admiration is nothing new. They first flagged Osorio as a target last summer and have continued to monitor him, while Midtjylland’s technical director has publicly acknowledged that several Premier League clubs are still running the rule over the player.

Osorio arrived in Denmark from Universidad de Chile in 2023 and has accelerated quickly. He has already stacked up 23 goals and 18 assists in 117 games, figures that have been enough to earn him regular call-ups for Chile, where he has made 25 international appearances.

His game is built on pace, direct running and the ability to attack from either flank. Those traits have inevitably drawn comparisons in Chile and beyond with Alexis Sanchez, and inside Midtjylland there is a firm belief that they can demand a major fee for their left-footed livewire.

The Danish club have set their valuation at around €20million (£17.1m / $23.4m) and are ready to listen to offers that hit that number. Lower bids have already been turned away, with Midtjylland hoping that a tug-of-war between Premier League and Serie A sides will nudge the price higher.

Behind the scenes, the expectation is clear. Coaching staff and club directors have indicated they anticipate losing Osorio and another key forward before the window shuts, describing at least one sale as “almost inevitable”. No formal bid has yet been accepted, but the sheer volume of interest suggests the situation is approaching a tipping point.

Where he lands is now the key question. A leap to the Premier League would place him under the brightest spotlight, but a switch to Serie A with AC Milan would offer a different kind of stage. Either way, Osorio is widely viewed as ready to step up.

Liverpool’s hunt for wide players is well known. They have explored moves for Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye as they look to refresh their attacking options, and Osorio fits the age profile and playing style that would appeal at Anfield.

Across Stanley Park, Everton are also in the market for another winger before the deadline. Jack Grealish remains on their radar, Como’s Assane Diao features on their shortlist, and Osorio has been discussed as part of those attacking plans.

Leeds United, pushing to assemble a squad capable of promotion and then survival at the top level, remain in the frame too, while Milan’s presence ensures the battle stretches beyond Merseyside and beyond England.

Midtjylland know what they have: a 22-year-old international, already productive, already hardened by European football, and ready for the next step. With the window ticking down and multiple clubs circling, the only real unknown now is which badge Dario Osorio will be wearing when the music stops on this summer’s market.
