Crystal Palace Sign Axel Disasi on Loan from Chelsea

Crystal Palace have moved to bolster their defence with the loan signing of France international Axel Disasi from Chelsea.

The 28-year-old centre back arrives at Selhurst Park after a stop-start spell at Stamford Bridge, where he made 61 appearances following his move from Monaco in 2023. Chelsea have now sanctioned another temporary exit for the defender as they reshape their squad.

Disasi spent last season on loan at West Ham United, featuring 14 times in the Premier League. Those games offered flashes of the imposing, front-foot defender who first caught Chelsea’s eye in Ligue 1, but he never fully nailed down an undisputed starting role in east London.

Now he gets a fresh start in south London.

"I'm very happy. The club has been going in a very good direction, so I think it was the right place for me to keep going," Disasi said in a statement, underlining Palace’s growing pull as a destination for established top-flight players.

Disasi brings serious pedigree with him. He was part of the France squad that reached the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar, adding major tournament experience to a Palace back line that has been gradually rebuilt over recent seasons.

For Palace, it is another calculated move in a careful evolution. For Disasi, it is a clear chance: regular Premier League minutes, a defined role, and a platform to reassert himself at the top level.
