Crystal Palace Sign Axel Disasi on Loan from Chelsea
Crystal Palace have added real muscle to the heart of their defence, sealing a season-long loan for Axel Disasi from Chelsea for the 2026-27 campaign.
The 28-year-old centre-back, who joined Chelsea in 2023, arrives at Selhurst Park with Premier League miles already on the clock after spells at Aston Villa and West Ham. Across those three clubs he has racked up 58 Premier League appearances, and his pedigree is underlined by five senior caps for France.
“I'm very happy. The club has been going in a very good direction, so I think it was the right place for me to keep going,” he said.
He also knows exactly what awaits him in south London. “I know that it's very tough to play against Palace at Selhurst Park - so I'm looking forward to being on the other side now.”
For new manager Pierre Sage, this is another key piece in an increasingly bold rebuild. Disasi becomes Palace’s seventh signing of the summer, a clear sign that Sage is not tinkering around the edges but reshaping the squad with intent.
“We are pleased welcome a defender of Axel's experience and calibre to Palace for the season. I look forward to seeing him in action at Selhurst Park,” Parish said.
The question now hangs in the air as the window ticks towards its close: with Disasi through the door and the spine of the side taking shape, what should Palace target next before the shutters come down on the market?
