Coventry Pursue Ex-Man Utd Star, Crystal Palace Bid for £42.9m Midfielder

Coventry City have reportedly expressed interest in signing former Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Angel Gomes. The 25-year-old recently returned to his parent club Marseille after a tough period at Wolves, where he didn't score or assist in 13 appearances across all competitions.

Gomes featured in seven Premier League matches for Wolves but couldn’t prevent their drop to the Championship. Wolves opted not to trigger a £6m purchase option on him. Despite this, Coventry may offer Gomes a chance back in the top flight. According to L'Equipe via SportWitness, Coventry has sent an enquiry to Marseille regarding Gomes’ availability.

Currently under contract with Marseille for two more years, the Ligue 1 side might allow him to leave if the right offer arrives. Gomes has scored four goals in 20 games for Marseille, having joined them on a free transfer last summer after leaving Lille.

Fullkrug had reportedly agreed terms with Italian club Venezia, but according to German source SportBild, West Ham’s asking price has blocked the transfer.
