Chelsea Eye Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga Amid Enzo Fernandez Transfer Speculation

Chelsea is exploring a late transfer move for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga after their pursuit of Bournemouth's Alex Scott stalled. The West London club has seen three bids for Scott rejected as Bournemouth remains firm on keeping the 23-year-old. Chelsea’s highest offer reportedly reached £68 million, prompting manager Xabi Alonso to look elsewhere.

Shift Toward Camavinga

The Blues have turned their attention to the French international Camavinga, who has been linked with a departure from Santiago Bernabeu since Jose Mourinho took charge at Real Madrid. Manchester United previously showed interest but opted to sign Carlos Baleba instead.

Enzo Fernandez’s Potential Exit

Meanwhile, Chelsea faces uncertainty over midfielder Enzo Fernandez. The Argentine expressed his desire to leave Stamford Bridge early in the summer. Although a dream move to Real Madrid fell through, he could still exit before the transfer deadline.

Manchester City and their manager, former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, are eager to sign Fernandez. Following the departure of Ballon d’Or winner Rodri to Barcelona for £65 million, Maresca seeks a top-tier replacement. City is also preparing to spend £86 million on Morocco’s Ayyoub Bouaddi but remains interested in Fernandez.

Chelsea Sets High Price for Fernandez

Chelsea is not actively pushing for Fernandez's sale but values him at an impressive £120 million. Despite this, they are planning alternatives should Fernandez leave. Besides Camavinga, Chelsea is monitoring Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and Roma’s Manu Kone, both attracting attention due to strong recent performances.

Fernandez Stays in Alonso’s Plans

For now, Fernandez remains part of Alonso’s squad. He appeared as a second-half substitute in Chelsea’s thrilling 3-2 Premier League victory over local rivals Fulham. Goals from Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers, and Cole Palmer secured Alonso's winning start as Chelsea manager.

The Premier League campaign will pause briefly for cup matches, with Chelsea set to face League One side Luton Town in the EFL Cup on Thursday, followed by a league match against Brighton on Sunday.
