Real Madrid’s perfect start under Jose Mourinho is over – and it ended in the most brutal fashion.

Just when Betis looked like they might see it out with a clean, simple 1–0, the drama spiked. A heavy challenge by Natan on Vinicius in the area left the referee pointing straight to the spot in the dying minutes. Up stepped Mbappé, the man Madrid wanted in exactly this situation.
