Arsenal Pursue Ezri Konsa to Strengthen Defense
Arsenal have stepped up their pursuit of Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa as they push to land their top defensive target.
Sources indicate there is growing optimism that a deal can be struck for the England international to move to Emirates Stadium, even though the Premier League champions have yet to meet Villa’s £60m valuation.
Konsa has been at the top of Arsenal’s list throughout this window, and BBC Sport reported last week that the club had reopened negotiations with Villa in an effort to break the deadlock. Those talks, however, still ended without an agreement, with Arsenal’s offer falling short of Villa’s demands.
That stalemate briefly forced the Gunners to look elsewhere, with attention turning towards Bayer Leverkusen’s Jarrell Quansah. Yet the focus has swung back to Konsa, underlining how strongly Arsenal view the 26-year-old as the ideal addition to reinforce their back line.
The question now is simple: will Arsenal go high enough to finally bring Villa to the table?
