Arsenal Secure Agreement for Rising Star Vincent Joseph from Liverpool

Arsenal have struck an agreement with highly rated Liverpool forward Vincent Joseph, moving to prise one of Kirkby’s brightest teenage prospects away from Anfield.

The 16-year-old striker has agreed to join the Gunners this summer, according to The Athletic’s Jordan Campbell and James McNicholas, with the two clubs now locked in negotiations over a compensation package.

Because Joseph is out of contract but still only 16, Liverpool are entitled to a fee for his development. If the clubs can’t settle on a figure, a tribunal will set the amount.

Joseph has been accelerating through the age groups. He broke into u18 Premier League football last season and wasted no time making an impression, scoring three goals in just two appearances for Liverpool’s u18s. The step up, though, didn’t persuade him to commit his future on Merseyside, and he now looks poised to continue his rise in north London.

His numbers for England underline why Arsenal have moved. Joseph has hit eight goals in nine games for England u16s, all during the 2025/26 campaign, marking him out as one of the most productive young forwards in his age group.

Arsenal’s academy department has been actively searching for strikers in recent windows. They lost out to Liverpool last year in the chase for Will Wright. This time, they’ve hit back. Having agreed terms with Crystal Palace forward Mylo Bernard and now Liverpool’s Joseph, the club appear to have finally landed the attacking reinforcements they wanted for their youth ranks.

The rebuild doesn’t stop there. Arsenal have already brought in Elijah Upson from Tottenham Hotspur this summer and are set to complete a deal for Axel Donczew from Cardiff City.

Donczew is the only one of the quartet who remained under contract, a detail that underlines Arsenal’s strategy. The club are clearly looking to exploit stalled negotiations at rival Premier League academies, moving quickly when talks elsewhere break down.

For now, the hard work is administrative. Arsenal still need to finalise and announce the arrivals of Joseph, Bernard and Donczew.

The talent is lined up. The paperwork just has to catch up.
