Alisson Fined £8,000 for Incident After Nottingham Forest Draw

Alisson has been hit with an £8,000 fine after the Liverpool goalkeeper lashed out at the fourth official’s board in the aftermath of the 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

As the final whistle went on Saturday’s fractious contest against Oliver Glasner’s side, cameras caught the 33-year-old kicking the electronic board used to signal stoppage time and substitutions as he headed towards the tunnel.

The incident came at the end of a deeply frustrating afternoon for the Brazilian. He had given away a penalty in the second half, racing from his line and colliding with Neco Williams, with Morgan Gibbs-White converting from the spot to put Forest 2-1 ahead.

Days later, that decision was officially discredited. On Wednesday, the Key Match Incidents panel released its findings and ruled the penalty should not have been awarded.

Tension had already been simmering. The fourth official’s board malfunctioned during the game, leaving Liverpool unable to make changes while the score was 1-1. On three separate occasions the ball went out of play, yet the substitutions still could not be processed.

Forest then seized their moment. Liam Delap took a quick throw-in to Williams, Alisson charged out to close the angle, and the Forest wing-back went down in the area. The referee pointed to the spot, sparking anger on the Liverpool bench and disbelief in the stands.

The Football Association later charged Alisson with misconduct over his behaviour near the tunnel. An FA spokesperson confirmed the goalkeeper admitted the charge after it was alleged he had “acted in an improper manner around the tunnel area”.

No suspension follows, but the fine underlines how a single, chaotic passage of play – and a malfunctioning board on the touchline – turned a routine walk back to the dressing room into a disciplinary case.
