Al-Ittihad Pursues Hakim Ziyech Amid Wydad Crisis

Al-Ittihad have sensed opportunity in chaos and gone straight for Hakim Ziyech.

The Libyan club have submitted a substantial financial offer to the Moroccan star, according to “Africa Foot”, hoping the size and speed of the proposal will tempt him away from Wydad as his situation there unravels.

Nothing is signed. Not yet. Talks over his contract with Wydad are still dragging on in the background, with no breakthrough in sight.

What began as tension has now turned into a full-blown rift. Ziyech’s relationship with Wydad has deteriorated sharply in recent weeks, strained by financial, sporting and disciplinary disputes. Several meetings between the player and the club hierarchy have brought plenty of words but no real progress.

Then came the flashpoint. Ziyech went public on social media, directly accusing Wydad president Ibrahim El Assri of lying. The dispute, once internal, burst into the open.

Wydad are keen to close the chapter and restore some form of stability. Ziyech is digging in. He wants what he believes he is owed and, according to the same source, is prepared to escalate the matter to FIFA if no agreement is found.
