Adam Aznou walked into pre-season needing to change a few minds. He may have done exactly that.

Everton are now leaning towards keeping the 20-year-old left-back in David Moyes’ first-team squad for the 2026/27 campaign, with TeamTalk reporting that the club currently expect him to stay on Merseyside rather than head out on loan. Crucially, the Morocco international has not been told of any plan to send him away, and, as things stand, the intention is to retain him as part of Moyes’ group.

For a player whose debut season brought just one senior appearance after an £8million move from Bayern Munich, this summer has carried weight. It had to.
